Efficiency in the datacenter has never been more important. And Hyper Converged Infrastructure is an important IT efficiency trend and practice that is gaining increased traction in terms of both mindshare and actual implementation.

Red Hat has several Hyper Converged compute and storage solutions for various use cases: Red Hat OpenStack and Ceph for private clouds, RHEV and Gluster for traditional virtualized data centers and OpenShift and Gluster for containerized application environments.

We will introduce each of these solutions with motivation, goals, current status and plans including demos and performance numbers.

About the Authors:

Tushar Katarki is Portfolio Integration Architect with Red Hat Systems Design and Engineering team and is leading many initiatives including Portfolio Architecture Interlock (PAI), Common Logging and aggregation, and Hyper Converged solutions.

Steve Watt is a Consulting Software Engineer within Red Hat Emerging Technologies and is the lead architect for storage initiatives related to containers.

Sean Murphy is Principal Product Manager in ISBU and lead for number of solution initiatives including Hyper Converged compute and storage.
