Linux Containers 301
Linux Containers have been around for years, but they didn’t gain popularity until the Docker format made them easy to use. Docker made it so easy to move and run containers, that it’s difficult to understand how the technology works. Linux Containers rely on web technologies and the operating system. This talk will explore the fundamentals.

This talk will help attendees explore advanced concepts in Linux Containers including determining which applications are easy to migrate to containers, and how to do it. We also cover some advanced use cases for super privileged containers.

This will build on foundational knowledge from the Linux Containers 101 class and will assume a working understanding of Linux internals including, system calls, kernel and user space separation, Linux capabilities, and SELinux, cgroups, and SECCOMP. This class will be taught trough a combination of slides, drawings, and demos. After attending, an attendee should be comfortable building fundamentally new architectures using Linux/Docker Containers.

Enabling BRMS HA Complex Event Processing with JBoss Data Grid
Architecting and designing a JBoss BRMS highly available Complex Event Processing (CEP) platform has many challenges. Statefulness of the platform, replicating sessions across nodes and/or datacenters, the processing of a continuous stream of possibly correlated events, etc.

In this session we will look at an architecture and design that utilises concepts like event partitioning and event sourcing to realise a highly available CEP engine based on JBoss BRMS and JBoss DataGrid. This work is the result of an initial PoC and project executed at Lottomatica in Italy, one the largest gaming companies in the world.

A demo will be provided that shows the concepts and platform in action.

Going mobile with Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite and Red Hat JBoss BRMS
Get supercharged agility by combining Red Hat Mobile Application Platform and Red Hat's business process management (BPM) and business rules management system (BRMS) products, Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite and Red Hat JBoss BRMS. Come see how we took a fully dynamic web application driven by rules and created a native mobile application out of it in no time. We'll go over all the moving parts, show a little code, and demonstrate this solution with a quick survey app that is modified on the fly. See how straight-forward rules can create complex interactions in the app, and how processes in BPM can put some order to things. A slick dashboard tabulates the results, and all of this with a minimum amount of code. You'll walk away with some great insights into how these exciting technologies play together and ideas on how they could be a great solution to your next challenge.

Migrating Existing Puppet Environments to Satellite 6
A significant amount of customers already have Puppet in their environment, be it the community version, or Puppet Enterprise (PE). You know Satellite 6 integrates with PE already, but let's assume you want to move an existing Puppet environment, including existing workflows, into Satellite 6, how would you go about doing that? In this session, we'll focus on a fictive customer, ACME Corp., that currently works with r10k and community Puppet, completely outside of Satelite 6. We'll describe and demo a few steps to gradually move their workflow into Satellite 6 to allow them to start using the scalability of Satellite 6 capsules. We'll explore reporting to Satellite 6 only, how we can integrate the use of Hiera into Satellite 6, working with Satellite 6 and r10k and eventually moving to a content view-based workflow for the production environments.

Block Device Internal and performance tuning
Many engineer are not familiar with Storage and block device so we want to share block device focus on kernel side with audiences, and then sharing our knowledge and experience, and how to approach the performance tuning of block device.

We will present for block device internal and point out what configuration will be effected to the best performance from filesystem layer to block device layer. In additional, we discuss how to collaborate(interact) when we have performance issue between Consultant and CEE.

OpenStack NFV Tuning effect on a Telco workload
Using readily-available and fully supported software and configuration options, service providers can now deploy production-ready NFV deployments with deterministic performance and isolation from other VNFs running in the system. We showcase in real-time the consequences of the NFV performance tuning and the trade-off between elastic resource scheduling versus deterministic reserved capacity, and the effects of increased CPU load and network throughput and latency.
A demonstration will be shown comparing the performance of vEPC components (eNodeB and S-GW) running simultaneously on two identical hardware platforms with dual-socket CPUs and SR-IOV cards: one with the generic all-purpose OpenStack configuration, and other a NFV-optimized OpenStack with CPU-pinning, Huge-pages and NUMA affinity.

Red Hat Openshift Container Platform on OSP
In this session we will talk about integrating OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) into your Red Hat OpenStack environment. We’ll talk about everything from high level architecture to low level implementation details. This will include how we leverage native OpenStack technologies like Cinder, Heat, Swift, Neutron and more to run a truly integrated OpenShift infrastructure. Leverage our lessons learned and pass along our best practices to your partners and customers. Stop by, have a look at our best practices, and bring your questions.
