Linux Containers 101
Linux Containers have been around for years, but they didn’t gain popularity until the Docker format made them easy to use. Docker made it so easy to move and run containers, that it’s difficult to understand how the technology works. Linux Containers rely on web technologies and the operating system. This talk will explore the fundamentals.

This talk will enable attendees to understand the fundamentals of building and running a container. Attendees will also learn how to share containers using a registry server.

This class will be technical, but should be accessible to almost anyone. This class will include both slides with drawings, and demos to provide foundational knowledge of containers.

Linux Containers 201
Linux Containers have been around for years, but they didn’t gain popularity until the Docker format made them easy to use. Docker made it so easy to move and run containers, that it’s difficult to understand how the technology works. Linux Containers rely on web technologies and the operating system. This talk will explore the fundamentals.

This talk will enable attendees to think and speak about containers in terms of operating system fundamentals. This will allow consultants, pre-sales and others to be thought leaders in their accounts. It will give them the confidence to apply their current technical knowledge in the context of Linux Containers, enabling them to create new architectures and enable sales, and implementation.

This will build on foundational knowledge from the Linux Containers 101 class and will assume a working understanding of running, building, and sharing Docker containers. This class will be a mix of slides, drawings and demos which will provide attendees with deeper knowledge in how containers work, and the difference between containers and virtualization.

Linux Containers 301
Linux Containers have been around for years, but they didn’t gain popularity until the Docker format made them easy to use. Docker made it so easy to move and run containers, that it’s difficult to understand how the technology works. Linux Containers rely on web technologies and the operating system. This talk will explore the fundamentals.

This talk will help attendees explore advanced concepts in Linux Containers including determining which applications are easy to migrate to containers, and how to do it. We also cover some advanced use cases for super privileged containers.

This will build on foundational knowledge from the Linux Containers 101 class and will assume a working understanding of Linux internals including, system calls, kernel and user space separation, Linux capabilities, and SELinux, cgroups, and SECCOMP. This class will be taught trough a combination of slides, drawings, and demos. After attending, an attendee should be comfortable building fundamentally new architectures using Linux/Docker Containers.
